Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

We're not opponents when it comes to psychohistory, Cesar, we're on the same side of the table. But I do wonder sometimes. Today for example, a Swedish newspaper reported that in Europe, Sweden has the highest percentage of reported rape. And one of the lowest percentages of solved rape cases. That ...

Re: A question about how you all handle or react to anxiety

You can ask all the questions you want, but since they seem to be about anxiety, which can be very general, I think it would be better if you ask yourself those questions. If you ask a 100 people, you get 100 different answers. I think it's importance to allow yourself to feel anxiety, as long as it...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

Of course child murder is the highest degree of child abuse. But how does one interpret child murder. In the western world, abortion is prevalent, which is a form of child murder. A country like Sweden, the statistics are like this: "On the overall, of the women who had been pregnant, nearly one wom...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

That woman may have been in darkness after reading all those books, yes. What do you mean? That she had the lights out when she read Miller's books? This is not an isolated case. Books are generally read by intellectual people and there's a split between thinking and feeling. The more intellectual ...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

I didn't realize this at the time, but on Daniel's old website he describes his therapy as follow: " Sessions are forty-five minutes in length. I do not ascribe to any particularly school of thought, except my own. My form of therapy is entirely talk therapy, face-to-face, non-directive, insight-ori...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

I think we have to put Daniel in the right perspective. Yes, he's a therapist and yes some of his ideas are radical when it comes to child abuse but he isn't an established filmmaker or musician or author. The impression I get is that it's more like a hobby than a career. I mean, the video song abou...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

I remember writing about that essay of a license for parenting at Daniel's forum. And the main problem is what the State will do when people are denied a license. The Black Market will flourish, trade in children will prevail and abortions increase. Any laws that come from above that tell people how...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

I posted the video link because it's from a movie, Network, from 1976. Now it's 2009 and its message still counts, more than ever, but people don't get angry for the right reasons anymore.

Besides Phil, Andreas Wirsén dropped out as well.

Re: A question about how you all handle or react to anxiety

Hi, Anxiety can be a lot of things. I don't think there's a specific way to deal with it appropriately. Many people try to avoid situations that create anxiety because it reminds them of something that they don't want to think about. For me personally, anxiety came in certain situations where I felt...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

I assume that you never got a reply from Daniel regarding your questions. Youtube is great to get a message out, but if you see the number of views, it's rather disappointing. Last year someone made a feature movie using his mobile phone which made it to film festivals. The technique is cheap today,...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

It's your loss not to read up on Janov. The link to Barbara's confrontation with Miller called "Escape from the Fog of Admiration" can be found here . Some very insightful replies can be found here , and especially Sabine's response was very interesting for me to read because of so many similarities...

Re: Failed "Phoenix Order"…

Hey Cesar, I never considered disagreement a reason to stop communicating with people, or to reject people who don't agree with some of my views. On the contrary I would say. Daniel changed his website but he kept some of the important threads, which you can find here . I offered at the time free he...

Re: Is the tide turning?

I basically agree with everything you wrote here. Most people in despair have 2 options: pills or therapy. Pills were and are still dominating in our society. If there are no alternatives, I would prefer therapy. Not because it would solve the problems, but the chances for improvement with human int...

Re: Is the tide turning?

You can say that medication and CBT therapy are two evils, but at least a human being talking to someone about his/ her problems is better than giving a pill and saying: it'll be alright. The side effects of mind-altering medication is a bit more than possible rotting teeth. How about a chemical lob...
