Phil, as you probably know, you're not alone in your belief that ADHD is a a real condition. There has been many discussions and debates on that, often with emotions running high. But a child (or adult) diagnosed with ADHD doesn't mean he/she doesn't have any problems. We all know hyperactive childr...

Mojo, the article you refer to - though interesting - is from 1998. Since then it has become increasingly popular to diagnose children with ADHD and have them on Ritalin or Adderall, both amphetamines. There's a lot written on ADHD, myself not excluded, and still all the evidence points to that ADHD...

Seems like we’re back at the beginning of the discussion. You said you didn’t believe in repressed memories. I gave you references to solid evidence that repressed memories do exist, but you claimed that there wasn’t real scientific evidence. Then I explained how current criteria of scientific resea...

There's no scientific evidence that dreams exist. That's generally known inside the scientific community. Maybe you confuse dreams with sleep and sleep patterns. But that a human sees images, and hears sounds and feel within what we call dreams hasn't been proven with scientific criteria. So common ...

Let’s see if I can sum this up, correct me if I’m wrong. I say it’s dangerous to idealize science, while you say science is great and it’s the scientists’ responsibility when it’s used wrongly. So when used immorally, it’s not science but the scientists who are the problem. But who decides when some...

Are you talking about people who take scientific findings to explain other phenomena? Like using quantum physics to try to explain human consciousness? That may be religion, but it's nothing to do with science. Scientists can't be held responsible for the perversion of their ideas by others. That's...

Human behavior can seldom be analyzed by scientific criteria. That's why there's emperical evidence. You can't have a child in a lab (controlled situation) exposed to abuse and then examine the effects on his life later, together with a control group who is not abused. It doesn't work like that. But...

Quote: how would you explain cases where babies or small children got cured by primal therapy? First, please give me evidence (not anecdotal) that this has occurred. And details please about what was cured and how it is known that that primal therapy was the cause of the cure. On this site you'll f...

It's not just viewpoints that Jim Hopper presents. There's also a massive body of science that supports the fact that there's such a thing as repressed memories and feelings and its effect. I've looked into more aspects, including the False Memory Syndrome and its foundation, but feel free to give m...

Shelley, I don't know why you think there's little evidence that repressed feelings/memories exist. There's actually a lot, though not often mentioned in the mass media. On the website of Jim Hopper you find many pages of research that proves the existence of repressed memories. If you want more, I ...

Redirecting Self-Therapy (RST)

(copied from the website) Redirecting Self-Therapy (RST) Note - the term "postflood" was a term coined by Ellie Van Winkle - to mean a point where 95% of the suppressed anger has been discharged. In other words - when a 95% cure has taken place. Note: you should not use this website as a s...

When I read Janov, Miller and Van Winkle, it confirmed largely what I already knew from my own and other people’s experiences. Now, some people have discussions about what is truth and what are facts. Those are philosophic discussions. I think it’s when a person starts to realize a lie from his life...

Thanks for posting this article. It's an interesting perspective from an individual. I've always been sceptical of words like primal community or primal buddies . I'm even sceptical of the therapy. It looked like Janov underestimated the enormous defences in people. But he emphasizes too much therap...

To put the subject back in context, we are talking about having a closed box around someone's head; the infamous primal box. I think people who are attracted to use such a box, have a different (pseudo) need acting up than just preventing the upsetting of the environment. I understand that most prim...

What do you think is the need to scream? Children scream when they are in danger or pain and they need help. By screaming they increase the chance to be heard and helped. What would the function of screaming in a box be for adults in relation to primal? Is it a cry for help? And isn't the unfulfille...
