Opponents of the False Memory Syndrome have never denied the existence of false or wrong memories. Supporters of this syndrome however have denied every repressed memory regarding child abuse. To them there is no such thing as repressed memories. I have a very interesting article on UFO abduction, w...

CC , I can relate to your statement that you lack writing skills (not that I necessarily agree with such statement). I had no writing skills at all before the age of 21. Never would I have guessed that I would spend a great deal of writing later in life. I did do a lot of reading then and I believe...

Bookish , I have read Janov's The Biology of Love but don't own a copy so I cannot check deMause's reference. But I really doubt he would lie about such a thing. Couldn't he have another copy of the book, where the order of pages is different? I do agree that Janov hasn't sufficiently put swaddling...

Though I have not read Janov I am very concerned about Antonio?s testimony. And my educated guess is that to be swaddled for many months traumatizes more an infant than the current non-empathic methods of childbirth, or the immoral circumcision of babies. A huge misconception about Janov's Primal T...

Just a quick note on the TV series Prisoners of Childhood , which I mentioned already in this thread , I still have the best episodes on video tape and I'll transfer them to the computer. Once that has happened, you can borrow a copy  I've also mentioned I had a great interview with Elizabeth ...

Thanks for your input, Phil. My original intention with creating a new forum last year was when I realized John Speyrer's Forum was sinking fast. I wanted to have at least one serious forum on the Internet where people can discuss primal-related issues. But Primal isn't a new religion and it may sca...

I haven't had the time to properly see what I should change but I'll change the name of the link right away. Thanks for pointing it out.

Bernard , I suppose there can be different interpretations to Alice Miller's views on Primal Therapy and yours does sound valid. I interpreted her words as if she was critical towards primal self-therapy but not Primal Therapy (with an enlightened therapist), adding the word ' Today ' to her statem...

I'm not comparing human emotions to computers at all. Primal means fundamental, at the core, the source. Since the context of this forum is emotions, I assumed people would understand I was talking about the source of emotions, not DNA. Dealing with the source has a bigger impact, for the good or fo...

Cesar , like you I'm also appalled by the emotional blindness in so many people. Next time someone says: 'my parents did the best they could, they didn't know better', answer it with: but do YOU want to know better? And then it turns out many don't WANT to know better. And their kids can say in the...

Patricia , welcome. I think there's a lot of atrocity in the history of psychiatry and psychology. And that's not just on animals, but there were and still are many cruel experiments on kids and adults. For some reason, as soon as it's connected somehow to science, people seem to have no boundaries...

Torturing babies in the name of science

Here's a 30 second clip from the documentary 'Psychiatry, An Industry of Death ( www.cchr.org/documentary ), in which you can see how babies were tortured by scientists who called themselves behaviorists. I wonder how the lives of these babies turned out as adults. MPG file (5 MB) http://primalforum...

Sounds indeed like an interesting book you have read, Annette. I also think that closed psychiatric institutions are not the solution, unless the patient has committed severe crimes or is about to. Maybe you've read about the psychiatric debate in Sweden last year where Anders Milton was put under p...

I live in Sweden for about ten years now, I'm originally from Holland. The therapeutic situation in Sweden is far from ideal but I wouldn't say that it's so much better abroad. Maybe there are more alternatives to choose from abroad. I'm always surprised to see that there are so few alternatives in ...

Hello Anette, I'm curious how Sweden is according to your opinion behind most modern countries when it comes to therapy. As you may or not may know, I live in Sweden as well and I know how often the psychiatry is in the news when a psychiatric patient has randomly killed. Today again, someone with a...
