I may have been a bit, err, extreme in my previous post.
: )
Nevertheless, that guy does seem to be very narrow minded, a reborn anti-primaller, dumb as your regular devout christian.
He keeps saying that PT is a cult (and I'll refer to that later), yet it seems that mainstream therapies can also be viewed as cults, or subdivision of the main, ruling cult. It is just a question of size and adaptation, it becomes less extreme and less belligerent (since it is not the ideology of an outcast minority), it incorporates itself into the socio-economic structure of society, it becomes corrupt, power & money based - a perfect member of our world.
And it doesn't cure you. It makes you dependent on what they have to sell you, be it attention or drugs.
All the vicious, silly little articles he links to, based on mind-numbing statistical research that 'prove' or 'demonstrate' the 'fact' that there is no such thing as unconscious repression and so forth are just angering, they prove only how idiocy and dogma can hide under the cloak of science, how science has become a new religion which does what religion has been doing all throughout history - serving as a tool of opression.
What is interesting and informative about his site (gotta give him that) is all the stories of primal patients posted there. I remember reading The New Primal Scream, years ago. I already had knowledge of regressive therapy, so, luckily, Janov's work had not been my only source of information, and I was not in danger of seeing him as the great guru. I'd always been quite argumentative and never liked following anyone blindly. The book had made a great impression on me, but there was no mention of therapy there. I also thought his theory was incomplete, but I don't remember it well enough to go into this, plus I don't feel like it right now (but don't think I can't. Try me if you want).
But Janov's methods reveal themselves as being very faulty in those stories. He understood quite a lot about repression, but his 'assault' on them, in his patients, seems to have been brutal and insensitive, which suggests an incomplete understanding, and in part an unwillingness to understand. Why do all inventors of such therapies never undergo their own therapies themselves? Maybe they are more concerned with advancing their own careers and making money? How very obvious and practical on their part.

Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl this cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back & laugh
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying....
