I think addicts are dissociated from their pain and act out abusively, to themselves and to others. Nurses stand at the end of the line and are trained to give them physical help. They are being abused by them so it's hard to deal with that. I think no one has to deal with that because adults bear responsibility for their own actions. If someone tolerates abuse, I would say it's because of their own damaged upbringing. You can condemn abuse without condemning the person.

I think science should stay away from child rearing. We don't need more research that will show a+b=c Science will never convince people to feel more. And it's exactly that, which will prevent unnecessary disconnected suffering, in children and in us later in life.

There's a lot to say about these topics of course. It was interesting reading your views.
